Bayanihan Equity Center

The Bayanihan Equity Center, a nonprofit organization, is committed to providing culturally responsive services that cater to the needs and rights of marginalized communities, aiming to foster equity and justice. This mission is carried out through various programs and initiatives.

One of the key programs the Bayanihan Equity Center offers is their Community Services Program, which directly assists San Francisco seniors and adults with disabilities. This program provides essential services such as case management, social activities, and educational workshops, aiming to maintain or improve the wellbeing of these individuals. In the fiscal year, this program served a total of 700 seniors and adults with disabilities.

In addition to the Community Services Program, Bayanihan Equity Center collaborates with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to distribute supplemental groceries to very low-income seniors and adults with disabilities residing in specific districts in San Francisco. This initiative serves approximately 100 clients per week, providing them with culturally-appropriate non-perishable groceries. The Bayanihan Equity Center also operates a Supplemental Grocery Program, where participants can access bi-weekly food distributions of culturally-appropriate non-perishable groceries either through pickup or delivery by interns and volunteers from partner organizations.
