Mission Statement of Fly Fishers International

Fly Fishers International, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the education of youth and the general public on fly fishing, with a focus on fisheries and water quality, quality management, conservation of water, and research for water quality improvement. The mission of Fly Fishers International is to foster the legacy of fly fishing for all fish in all waters by promoting conservation, education, and inspiring a growing community of fly fishers. The group, comprising clubs and councils, is concerned with the conservation of natural resources and wildlife, as well as promoting the sport and art of fly fishing. They achieve this by offering a variety of quality programs to enhance their members' knowledge, enjoyment, and success in fly fishing. Over 1,800 club and council members have volunteered over 28,000 hours to assist in various activities and events for children and adults throughout the year, benefiting well over 19,000 participants. These events include fly tying, casting demos and clinics, rod building, fish welfare and habitat, and water education.
