In fulfilling its mission, Louisiana Human Resources Development Institute plays a pivotal role in coordinating and building relationships with other service providers. It implements rapid response activities to assist dislocated workers in transitioning to employment as quickly as possible. The Institute employs a proactive, business-focused, and flexible strategy, known as Rapid Response, designed to achieve two primary purposes. Firstly, it helps growing companies gain access to a pool of skilled workers from other companies that are downsizing or have been trained in the required skills. Secondly, it responds to layoffs and plant closings by swiftly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to affected companies and their workers. The assistance provided includes core intensive Rapid Response services on a statewide basis, at times and locations determined by the LA Workforce Commission, the employer, and the needs of the affected workers. In essence, Louisiana Human Resources Development Institute's mission is to ensure a skilled and trained workforce in Louisiana, supporting dislocated workers in transitioning to new employment opportunities.
