Sequatchie Valley Preparatory Academy

Sequatchie Valley Preparatory Academy, or SVPA, is dedicated to providing a distinctive education with a strong equine emphasis. The organization's mission is to nurture well-rounded students by offering extensive hands-on training. This unique approach caters to both gifted students and those with special learning or behavioral needs. The presence of horses plays a pivotal role in the students' advancement in veterinary medicine and academics, as well as their psychological development, maturity, and leadership skills, equipping them to excel in today's global society.

In addition to the dedicated teachers at the school, SVPA's students engage in rigorous agricultural business management through their individualized positions in the agricultural operations of the school. High school students and graduates of the academy have achieved impressive accomplishments, such as obtaining major college scholarships, becoming scientific publication authors, conducting humanitarian trips, holding vice-president positions in companies, and being accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy summer program. Notably, students with special behavioral or educational needs have thrived under this hands-on education system, significantly surpassing their psychologically diagnosed outcomes.

Sequatchie Valley Preparatory Academy's animal and marine science programs are extensive. The academy encompasses animal science and animal husbandry in various ways, including equine research and development, dairy production, beef production, animal husbandry in sheep, goat, and poultry production. SVPA's marine biology programs and research allow students to expand their knowledge to new depths, offering a well-rounded understanding of the planet they inhabit. These programs engage students in global conversations on issues such as animal protection, clean water, coral reef restoration, agriculture land trusts, organic farming, land preservation, and overall planet sustainability.

Beyond its academic focus, SVPA is committed to humanitarian work. The academy's staff and students utilize their pre-veterinary, animal science, and marine biology skills, along with their business leadership, to train and inspire underprivileged young people in both the U.S. and Central America. Hundreds of orphaned children are impacted annually through these programs, many of whom have gone on to aspire to heights they never imagined. Through the Honduras Horsemanship Mission Project, children, teens, and young adults have learned the principles needed to embrace life's trials, tragedies, and circumstances with a bold, positive attitude. This has led to success in school, international leadership programs, international translation positions for medical teams, small business entrepreneurial and agricultural business management positions. Through business training, development, support, and long-term relationships through these humanitarian projects, those less privileged have grown to break the chains of poverty within their families and communities.
